The Open Seat – Donation Guide
What to Donate
The Open Seat food pantry accepts food items and hygiene products that have not been opened, are not damaged, and are not expired.

This is a list of our current, most needed items.
- Hygiene Products (Menstrual products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bars of face or body soap, deodorant)
- Canned proteins (fish, chicken, beans)
- Meals in a box/quick meals (Hamburger Helper, Ramen, Pasta Roni, etc.)
- Canned fruits
- Single-serve snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.)
Do you have extra produce in your garden? Do you want to donate unopened and unused perishable items? You can drop it off directly to our staff at the following locations! Please email openseat@asm.wisc.edu prior to dropping off your produce or perishable food.
Wednesday 4-5pm at Eagle Heights Community Center
Friday 11am-4pm in Suite 3136 at the Student Activity Center (333 E Campus Mall)
We accept the following non-perishable items and more.
- Beans (Dried or Canned)
- Broth/Stock
- Oils (Vegetable, Corn, Canola)
- Condiments
- Canned Fruits and Vegetables
- Canned Soups
- Noodles (Wheat, Rice)
- Grains (Rice, Oats)
- Quick Meals (Ramen, Mac and Cheese)
- Non-Perishable Proteins (Canned tuna, chicken, spam)
- Seasoning
- Baking Items (Flour, Sugar)
- Sweeteners (Maple Syrup, Honey)
- Snacks (Chips, Granola Bars)
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
We also accept hygiene products and household essentials.
- Paper Products (Towels, Toilet Paper, Tissues)
- Soap (Hand Soap, Body Soap)
- Shampoo and Conditioner
- Deodorant
- Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
- Shaving Products (razors, shaving cream)
- Lotion

Know Before You Go: Check the hours of each location before you go. Please only donate unopened, non-perishable, undamaged items.
